How to extract parameter values from a battery?

Good Afternoon all,

I want to replicate the charge, discharge, and cycle characteristics of a known cell, the Molicel P45B, in PyBaMM. I have their data sheet here.

After tearing down one of the cells I believe I can collect data on electrode thickness, separator thickness, and other similar values. But how should I go about figuring out the other parameters to adjust when setting a new parameter set to run experiments on this cell? Is the best way to adjust different values, run the experiment, check it against the provided data and then course correct from there? Or is there a better way?

Small world, I logged back in here to ask a nearly identical question (parameter selection for the P45B). I’ve been using some values from the literature that explored a teardown of the P45B so that could be a good reference if you haven’t seen it yet. But they certainly don’t provide all of the parameters in question. Because of this I’ve been trying PyBOP to parameter fit from experimentally derived voltage curves so this could also be worth looking into too if you have access to a cycler/raw data. I think our interests are very aligned so I’d love to chat more!
